Centers
The Barcelona MAR Health Park (former Municipal Healthcare Institute) is a complete services organisation that offers all levels of healthcare, with significant teaching and research facilities.
The Mar Hospital is the principal public health facility, while social-public health services are concentrated at the Esperança Hospital and the Forum Centre. It also has extensive provisions for mental health and addictions for adults, children and youths for the Barcelona coastal and northern districts at the Dr Emili Mira Centre. It also has sexual and reproductive health service programmes and Peracamps CUAP. Biomedical research is centred at IMIM, the Mar Hospital Research Institute. The large campus offers medical degrees (UAB and UPF), the Mar Higher Nursing School (UPF), the Bonanova Institute of Professional Healthcare Training.
Mar Hospital
An innovative and dynamic university hospital that handles pathologies of medium and high complexity, with great experience and tradition of serving the city of Barcelona.
Esperança Hospital
With deep roots in the neighbourhood of Gràcia, it has provided services since 1933. It works closely with Mar Hospital to offer complete healthcare services.
Forum Center
Its speciality is geriatric and psychiatric services, in parallel with strengthening the hospital’s connection to handle more complex diseases.
Peracamps Center
The Peracamps emergency services handle emergencies in the Ciutat Vella that do not require surgery and coordinates with Mar Hospital to transfer patients who do need surgery.
Dr Emili Mira Center
It has a complete range of mental health services encompassing all healthcare needs: outpatient, hospital and social health.
IMIM
Devoted to scientific research in the fields of biomedicine and health sciences, it has 20 years experience handling high-level competitive research.
Bonanova Institute
Provides a wide range of professional and high-quality studies to meet the needs of companies and healthcare institutes.
MAR University Nursery School
Educational centre ascribed to UPF since the 2005-06 academic year, it has over 30 years experience educating expert nurses.
UAB-UPF FACULTY OF MEDICINE
This innovative and attractive educational project brings together the UAB, UPF, Mar Hospital and IMIM Research, as well as the UPF Department of Experimental and Health Sciences (CEXS).
UAB FACULTY OF MEDICINE
Provides full degree programmes for BS in Medicine and Surgery, with lecture classes and clinical practice in different hospital services at the MAR Health Park.
UPF Faculty of Human Biology Studies
With a biomedical orientation, these studies educate students for careers in laboratories and clinical analysis in biomedical research and in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
