Barcelona Biomedical Research Park

The Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (Parc de Recerca Biomèdica de Barcelona: PRBB) is a large European scientific facility. The PRBB provides high-level knowledge aimed at deciphering the genetic and molecular bases of life, and helps to solve emerging health problems. The collaborative research provides practical information for the development of the biomedicine of the future, and facilitates the effective transfer of knowledge to industry.

The PRBB provides an up-to-date and innovative approach, to provide answers to matters relating to basic and clinical biomedicine. It has at its disposal a critical mass of different public research centres and technological platforms in an exceptional and large building next to the University Hospital. It has over 1,000 staff, divided into 80 independent research groups, which work together to face this challenge.

The remarkable concentration of high-level researchers, who have worked in the best international centres, constantly attracts new scientific talent from all over the world.

The PRBB is an initiative of the Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan Regional Government), Barcelona City Council and the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF).
