Short Courses for Neurologists and Neuropediatricians

The training activity for small groups of neurology specialists and neuropediatricians will be held on a two-days course (Thursday and Friday) between 9 and 15h with a break at noon. Each day the activity will begin with a theoretical class on fundamental aspects of the activity that is carried out in an epilepsy unit of reference. The primary goal for colleagues is to have an appreciation of what modern diagnostic and therapeutic tools are available today.

Program Contents: 

Concept and implications of the new definition of ILAE. Criteria of drug resistance. Evaluation of images and acquisition of the epileptologist's point of view. Concept and differential diagnosis of pseudoseizures. New diagnostic techniques and therapeutic tools. Advances in pharmacological treatment. Future developments in epilepsy. Risk of complications and mortality in epilepsy. SEEG basics. Robotic surgery. Neuropsychology of epilepsy.
